Lake Whitney was impounded as a flood control lake in 1951. This 23,500 acre
lake is located on the Brazos and Nolan Rivers about 30 miles northwest of Waco
Texas and 70 miles southwest of the DFW Metroplex.
The rugged 250 mile shoreline features scenic limestone bluffs and heavily treed areas. The lake itself provides a complete selection of water sports; boating, sailing, swimming, water skiing and fishing for most of the Texas game fish species.
