on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River just north of the DFW Metroplex. Lake Lewisville was
first impounded in 1928 as Lake Dallas as a municipal water supply. Then in 1954, the
Garza-Little Elm Reservoir and Dam flood control project was impounded and joined Lake
Dallas to form Lake Lewisville. This 29,592 acre lake lies in Denton County just 30 miles
northwest of downtown Dallas.
With 230 miles of shoreline boasting over 9000 acres of protected nature area, Lake Lewisville
offers ample space for outdoor sports, water sports, nature related activity, fishing and hunting.
Lake Lewisville
is a US Army Corps of Engineers lake. Waterfront homes and lots
are unavailable.
